Poetry Book Bares Spiritual Answers to Pain and Suffering

When we are faced with life’s difficult circumstances, especially pain and grief, how do we respond? For many people, they respond with anger and frustration. Little do they know that God has set out a plan and an answer to every pain and grief that we all go through in our everyday life.

This is what the book “Voices: Poems Inspired by God” aims to draw out. In this book, written by author Karen J Chisholm, the prayers, thoughts, and feelings of everyday people are revealed and shared: a grieving mother, a firefighter, a woman who lives on the streets, a busy mom, a grandmother hospitalized from a fall, a police officer, the lonely, a soldier with PTSD.

“In this book, God has chosen to share with readers His answers to each of these hurting people, including the words of a child already with Him in heaven,” says Chisholm. Chisholm has a tender heart toward God, and her style of writing reflects His heart: open and clear. According to Chisholm, God causes readers to hear His heart in these poems, which, in effect, readers will feel God’s words speaking to them.

Karen J Chisholm has been writing and singing the songs God has given her since she began hearing the words along with the melodies when she became Spirit-filled. Later, when God began speaking to her in rhyme without melody, she simply wrote down His words and waited. One day when the notebooks filled an entire shelf, she felt God’s voice in her heart to publish them.

And so began her walk with God as author of His encouraging, healing, sustaining words that somehow flow over and into our hearts in rhythm and rhyme, bringing peace.

This, however, is not the first time Chisholm wrote a poetry book. In fact she had released two other books within this year 2022. Other masterpieces she published this year were “Tough as Nails: Poems inspired by God” (released in April 2022) and “I Am With You: Poems Inspired by God” (released in March 2022).
